Rebecca Ferguson lands her next film role in a thriller with Chris Pratt
Rebecca Ferguson has landed her next film role alongside Chris Pratt in the new thriller “Mercy.”
Set in a near future where capital crimes are on the rise, the sci-fi film centers on a detective (Pratt) who must prove his innocence after being accused of a violent crime (via Deadline).
Filming for Mercy is set to begin in spring. The director is Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and the screenwriter is Marco van Belle (Arthur & Merlin). Ferguson’s role remains a secret for now.

The actress is currently starring in Dune: Part 2, reprising her role as Lady Jessica from the original 2021 film.
The sequel is already a box office smash following its release last week, grossing $81.5 million in the US on its opening weekend, marking the highest-grossing opening weekend of the year so far. It’s also the highest-grossing since Taylor Swift’s film The Eras Tour.
The film also grossed $97 million internationally and is director Denis Villeneuve’s best US debut to date.

Rumor has it that a third film based on Dune: Messiah is in the works, Villeneuve recently said Digital Spy: “We are at an early stage. We are on the right track.
“A lot of work has already been done, but there is still a lot of work to be done to have something solid to shoot.”
