ANN ARBOR, MI – Hundreds enjoyed the 34th annual Jaycees Independence Day Parade in downtown Ann Arbor.
More than 50 organizations participated in the parade, including community groups, government officials, representatives, emergency responders and bands. Some distributed flags, leaflets and candy to parade spectators.
Several groups danced and the Ring of Steel Action Theater performed stage fights with fire.
Many people were dressed entirely in red, white and blue and many cars, motorcycles, trucks and a school bus were decorated. One person was dressed as the Statue of Liberty while others wore various costumes.

At the end of the parade, the Ann Arbor Fire Department and State Street District hosted a water play area for children and their families. Firefighters helped the children spray water from several fire hoses and everyone was able to cool off.
