Taylor Swift bravely put out a fire in her New York apartment.
Gracie Abrams, 24, girlfriend of the 34-year-old pop superstar and opening act on the “Eras Tour”, had no idea that six months before her interview with Billboard, which was published on Tuesday (18.06.24), a candle had fallen over and started a fire in the “All Too Well” singer’s apartment.
Gracie told the outlet, “She was such a legend – I don’t know how she knew what to do at that hour or in our state.
“We both had a terrible cough for weeks from the fire extinguisher fumes.”
The friends have recorded the collaboration “Us” together, which is scheduled to be released on June 21st.
In addition to sharing her reaction to the songs on Taylor’s latest LP, The Tortured Poets Department, Gracie also revealed that it was songwriter and producer Aaron Dessener’s tinkering in the studio that inspired them to record a song together.
She said: “We noticed something very quickly and violently at the same time.
“So we ran to the piano and started writing this song… I always fantasized about this kind of thing as a kid.”
Some time ago it was revealed that the ‘Love Story’ singer keeps her awards “on the mantelpiece, on the toilet” and even “in a cage”.
The “Karma” singer opened the doors of her townhouse to some of her loyal followers to thank them for their years of support, and superfan Tyler Conroy noted that her numerous accolades were not in a single room, but spread throughout the property.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Taylor had the entire top floor. Everything was brown, it was old New York style, with a red sofa and an alcove.”
“Their dad was sitting there when I was there and told me that they had seen ‘Frozen’ a few weeks ago. It was so sweet.”
“I was playing with her pet cats and I noticed there was a birdcage with a broken Grammy award in it. Taylor had broken it (after dropping it at the awards ceremony) and she wanted to put it in the cage to keep it.
“(The awards) were scattered everywhere, a few were on the fireplace. There was even one on the toilet, I’ve never seen anything like it. Most people have potpourri or flowers, but she had a Grammy award on her toilet.”
One of Tyler’s favorite parts of Taylor’s apartment was her hidden bathroom.
He said: “To get there, there is a secret door behind a bookshelf. It’s a kind of speakeasy.”
In the bathroom, Tyler found plain towels, each embroidered with the initials “TS.”
Taylor bought the $18 million, seven-bedroom property in 2014 from Sir Peter Jackson, and Sir Ian McKellen was living there at the time.
Tyler said, “Her father told me that when Taylor was looking at her apartment, Ian McKellen was sitting at the dining room table in his pajamas.”
The “Blank Space” singer later expanded the property by purchasing three units in the neighboring building for under $10 million each and combining the two upper floors into one 8,000-square-foot apartment.
