ANN ARBOR, MI – Police are investigating possible human remains found on the University of Michigan campus.
According to state police spokesman Rene Gonzalez, Michigan State Police were called to the campus around 3 p.m. on Monday, June 17. The University of Michigan Department of Public Safety requested the state police forensic lab, Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez could not confirm the location where police were investigating or the estimated age of the possible remains. “Our lab is used for anything an agency wants to have processed,” Gonzalez said.
Michigan State Police left campus that evening around 11:30 p.m.
University of Michigan police did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A university spokesman referred comment to university police.
This is an evolving story.
