Ladies Night at Chinook Cove Golf Club

Ladies Night at Chinook Cove Golf Club

Another fun evening of golf for ladies at Chinook Cove Golf Club near Barriere.

It’s that time of year again: Ladies’ Night at Chinook Cove. Everyone went out on the course with high expectations just to play what they normally play. There seems to be a trend among our female 18-hole golfers. That they all play better on their back nines, aka the non-ladies’ night round. But enough chatting, let’s get the wine out and get ready for the results!

Hole 1: KP in 3, flight 1 goes to Karen Peterson. KP in 3, flight 2, was not picked up this evening.

Hole 2: Long ride, flight 3 goes to Emma Schilling. Long ride, flight 4 goes to Linda Dunlop.

Hole 3: We painted an accuracy line on hole 3 and the lady with the highest accuracy was Kristin O’Connor from flight 3.

Hole 4: There were two ladies who earned a KP on hole 4. Donna Salle from flight 1 earned a KP and Emma Schilling from flight 3 earned a KP.

Hole 5: The long putt, split between flights 1 and 2, goes to Marian Wallace from flight 1. The long putt, split between flights 3 and 4, goes to Kayla Mosdell from flight 4.

Hole 6: Only one lady managed a KP on hole 6! That must have been the most difficult hole today. That lady was Laurie Hawley.

Hole 7: Two KP in two pins; one goes to Lorie Chambers and the other to Debra Westendorp.

Hole 8: A long drive leads to Debra Westendorp.

Hole 9: A long drive, split between flights 1 and 2, goes to Susan Mitchell from flight 1. A long putt, split between flights 3 and 4, goes to Emma Schilling from flight 3.

The lady with the fewest putts was Trudy Forsythe with 14. The lady with the most putts was Linda Dunlop with 26.

Now to all the pot winners of the evening.

Flight 1: Karen Peterson achieved the lowest gross score with a score of 44. Side note: After her Ladies Night round, Karen scored a 41 on her back 9 and the lowest net score goes to Marian Wallace with a score of 35.5.

Flight 2: The lowest gross score is achieved by Debra Westendorp with a score of 50 and the lowest net score is achieved by Laurie Hawley with a score of 35.5.

Flight 3: The lowest gross score is achieved by Anita Hill with a score of 52 and the lowest net score is achieved by Leslie Stirling with a score of 35.5.

Flight 4: The lowest gross score goes to Kayla Mosdell with a score of 61 and the second lowest gross score, looking back, goes to Wanada Amos with a score of 62. On her first night, Cathy Paul from Flight 3 managed a birdie on hole 1. A good start to the game in Chinook!

Golf jargon for this week:

What is a platypus in golf?

(PLAT · I · PUHS) noun. When a player hits his golf ball out of bounds and still makes par. Since platypuses are a rare species, this rare occurrence was named after this name.

Quote of the week: From the three-time major winner in professional golf, Nancy Marie Lopez: “Do your best, one shot at a time, and then keep going. Remember, golf is just a game.”
