Missing Michigan teenager found safe in Florida after appearing on livestream

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A 17-year-old who was missing in Michigan for nearly two months has been found safe and sound in Miami after stumbling upon a livestream.

The Flint Township Police Department published an article about the disappearance of Troy Coleman on May 21. On Thursday, the department announced that he had been tracked down in Miami.

Coleman was seen approaching streamers Clix and Lacy. A family member emailed Lacy and said Coleman was on her livestream. The family member said Coleman has schizophrenia.

Lacy then shared the message on Xformerly known as Twitter, in the hope that someone could help him reunite with his family.

“We contacted his brother and told him which hotel he was staying at during the stream,” said FaZe Lacy shared in a Thursday post to X. “He was found and put in a holding cell in Miami until he and his family are returned to Michigan. The power of the internet is insane, thanks guys.”

“The Flint Township Police Department would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who came forward with information regarding missing person Troy Coleman,” police wrote in a Facebook post. “He was found safe and sound in Miami, Florida and we are working with local authorities to arrange his safe return to Michigan to be with his family.”
