David and Victoria Beckham’s wedding playlist – with a very surprising Disney song

Victoria and David Beckham are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this week, after tying the knot in an extravagant ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle on July 4, 1999. OK! reported exclusively on the day.

While many remember the matching purple outfits or Victoria’s stunning Vera Wang dress, less well-known is the couple’s playlist from the wedding, which included a classic Disney song. In true celebrity style, the music was played throughout the day by live musicians – including an orchestra and a private pianist.

To begin, Victoria walked down the aisle to a trumpet fanfare, followed by the strings of an assembled orchestra playing the bridal chorus from Wagner’s Lohengrin. Shortly before 5 p.m., the orchestra began playing Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together.

Then it was time for some Disney! The beaming bride and groom were welcomed by their guests at the castle and walked down the ornate staircase while a pianist played the theme song from Beauty and the Beast.

At that time, the couple explained OK! They loved listening to Disney soundtracks and this was one of their favourite songs. “People will probably wonder which of us is Beauty and which is the Beast,” laughed Victoria.

It’s no surprise that the couple are fans of Disney music, as their wedding was also Robin Hood-themed, with a color palette of purple and green, purple ensembles, and a sword for cutting the cake (which was made of apples).

Some things never change: Victoria and David have been spotted taking their children Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12, to Disney World over the years. In 2022, they posed for snaps with Minnie Mouse before returning a year later to celebrate Harper’s 12th birthday at the theme park.

To mark their silver wedding anniversary this week, Victoria and David tried on their wedding ensembles again on Instagram and enjoyed a photoshoot in the outfits as they still fit them.

The image is captioned with the words “Look what we found…” and a laughing emoji. It shows the couple holding hands and sitting on thrones, as they did on their wedding day. Victoria is wearing her purple wedding dress with red lining and red flowers and silver strappy sandals, and David is wearing a matching purple suit, complete with purple suede shoes and a purple boutonniere.
