“We’d all be drunk” – Kendrick Perkins fires back at Chris Russo with bizarre claim about LeBron James and Bronny Lakers

The signing of Bronny James by the Los Angeles Lakers has certainly caused some discussion.

And Kendrick Perkins made a memorable contribution with his appearance on ESPN’s First Take.

When Chris Russo claimed that Bronny would not join the Lakers if his father LeBron was not on the team, Perkins did not mince his words.

“If ‘if’ was on the fifth, we’d all be drunk,” Perkins said.

“The fact is that LeBron James is on the Lakers and Bronny James is on the Lakers.

“We can’t live in a world of ifs. He was drafted 55th by the Lakers.”

Frankly, Russo is far from the only one who believes that Bronny’s famous father is a major factor in his move.

However, Perkins is convinced that Bronny will spend a lot of time on the pitch next season.

“It wouldn’t surprise me, and the world shouldn’t be surprised, if he plays this season,” Perkins said.

“Significant minutes…one thing you can’t question about Bronny James is his basketball IQ.”

Earlier this week, new Lakers coach JJ Redic insisted that Bronny deserved to be drafted.

Redick made his comments after the younger James thanked the coach, vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka for everything they had “given” him.

LeBron James “is willing to take a $20 million pay cut” to stay with the LA Lakers and play alongside his son Bronny

“Rob and I didn’t give Bronny anything,” Redick said.

“Bronny earned this. Bronny earned this through hard work.”

Bronny, 19, plays college basketball at USC.

He had to undergo heart surgery last summer.

And he says the five-month break has affected his development.

“I’m excited to see what’s coming.”

The Boston Celtics won their 18th title, putting them one title ahead of the Lakers in the all-time list.
