Porter Airlines: “People want good value for money”

Porter Airlines: “People want good value for money”

3. Of course we were all sad to hear that Porter Escapes is no longer available. Can you tell us about any future plans to either bring the deals back or launch a different version of the holiday packages?

“Porter Escapes has been an important part of our business for many years. The reason we have decided to discontinue sales is the recognition that our business is evolving. Rather than trying to sell packages for every new market we enter, we want to focus on sunshine destinations that Canadians traditionally visit in places like Mexico and the Caribbean. These will be available at a later date in conjunction with Porter flights, although no specific timeline is confirmed. In the meantime, we are focusing our energies on laying the groundwork for this new version of vacation packages that include Porter flights.”

4. What new trends do you see in air travel this year? And how is Porter responding to these trends?

“There is strong demand for travel, but people also want value for money. That means a fair price that includes benefits that only Porter offers, like free inflight service, including beer, wine and premium snacks for all passengers. We also have free Wi-Fi on our E195 fleet, which is comparable in speed to what you’re used to on the ground. You can stream shows and use multiple devices to stay connected during your flight. These are some of the details passengers appreciate about flying with Porter.

“For the remainder of 2024we will continue to expand our reach in Canada and the US, increase frequencies on existing routes and expand other key markets such as Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax to meet this demand. Passengers can also expect to travel seamlessly across our network and continue to reach the US West Coast, Europe and sunshine destinations with our partner airlines such as Air Transat and Alaska.”

5. What would you like to tell travel agents for the important summer season? What are you most looking forward to?

“Porter is offering the most extensive summer schedule in its history from Toronto, serving both Billy Bishop Airport and Toronto Pearson Airport. In addition, we will be Ottawa’s largest airline with nonstop flights to 16 destinations, including Western Canada and Florida.

“We now have a fleet of 63 aircraft flying to 30 destinations across North America! From Florida to California, Victoria to St. John’s, Porter is leaving its mark across the continent.

“We would like to thank all travel agents for their strong support in promoting our growing network and highlighting our generous service and warm hospitality. We look forward to working with you all on another successful summer travel season.”
