UC San Diego pitcher part of the college national team for the Friendship Series

Right-hander Anthony Eyanson of UC San Diego is part of the US Collegiate National Team for a 2024 international series in North Carolina.

Eyanson was one of 29 athletes selected by USA Baseball after attending the Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, NC last month.

The 21st USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendly Series began on June 29 at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, NC before moving on to USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, First National Bank Field in Greensboro, NC, and Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, NC.

In addition, the participants of the friendly series will face the team of the Summer League Tour on July 4th at the Segra Stadium.

Thirteen current Tritons and six new athletes participate in seven different summer baseball leagues in California, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin and British Columbia.

Eyanson, who was named to the All-Big West second team, also plays for the Cape Cod League.

He finished seventh in the Big West with a 3.07 ERA and finished last season with a 6-2 record and one save in 14 appearances.
