Meghan Markle wrote Taylor Swift a “personal letter” last year

Meghan Markle reportedly wrote Taylor Swift a “personal letter” and invited her to her Archetypes podcast, but the pop sensation declined. Instead, the singer recently invited Prince William and his two eldest children George and Charlotte backstage for a photo during her Eras Tour performance at Wembley Stadium. The snap also featured Travis Kelce, Taylor’s NFL star partner.

This friendly interaction contrasts with the rebuff Meghan received when she tried to recruit Taylor for her Archetypes podcast in a “personal letter.” Meghan reached out to Taylor last year with an invitation to join her podcast, but unfortunately Taylor declined her offer through a representative. The Telegraph states that Meghan penned a personal letter asking Taylor to join Archetypes, which Taylor respectfully declined.

Archetypes, which Duchess Meghan hosted for a short season on Spotify, attracted some big names like Serena Williams, Paris Hilton and Jameela Jamil for its episodes. However, the Duchess of Sussex’s show was axed by Spotify, sparking a row when it was announced that Meghan and Prince Harry were being removed from the platform. A senior Spotify employee strongly criticized the royal couple, calling them “f***ing fraudsters,” the Mirror reports.

Following the success of Archetypes, Meghan is now partnering with Lemonada Media to launch a brand new podcast series next year. Expressing her excitement for the project, the Duchess said: “I’m proud to now announce that I’m joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.”

She added: “Being able to support a woman-founded company with a roster of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to start 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so more people can access it, as well as launch a dynamic new podcast, is well underway. I can’t wait to share it with you soon and am beyond excited to join the Lemonada family.”

Meghan’s father Thomas recently said he feared dying without meeting his grandchildren. The estranged father claimed both he and King Charles had been treated “so badly” by Prince Harry and Meghan over the years.

The Duchess of Sussex’s father, who did not walk her down the aisle and never met his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet, said the last decade of his life had been “overshadowed” by the drama.

He told the Mail: “None of us deserve the treatment we have received. Why have they treated not only me but the Royal Family and the King so badly? Archie and Lilibet have two grandfathers they want to see, one of whom is the King of England.”
