Nashville singer-songwriter Terri Lynn Kathey has disappeared

Friends and family are asking for prayers after Nashville singer-songwriter Terri Lynn Kathey went missing over the weekend.

The gospel and blues singer – who has also performed under the name Terri Lynn Blues – and her husband, Nashville-based drummer Kevin Kathey, own a courier service. According to family friend Kerry Pharr, Kathey left her home around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning (June 16) to pick up a package on Music Valley Drive near the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.

She used her debit card around 6:30 a.m. at Hardee’s on nearby Elm Hill Pike, Pharr tells Taste of Country. The package was destined for Chattanooga, but Kathey never got there.

Police were called after her worried husband reported her missing. It turned out that her phone had last pinged a tower on Monteagle Mountain in Tennessee. There has been no further phone or card activity from Kathey since then.

Kevin Kathey has driven all over Monteagle Mountain looking for his missing wife since her disappearance, but has found no trace. In a post on Facebook on Monday (June 17), Pharr said Kathey had only slept two hours in the last few days.

“Please pray!” he asks in the post, also encouraging people to call Nashville police or him if they have any information.

The couple has deep roots in the Nashville music scene. In addition to Terri Lynn’s singing career, Kevin Kathey is a well-known drummer who, according to LinkedIn, has played with Charlie Louvin, Tommy Overstreet, Emmylou Harris, Joey + Rory and others. He also owns Next Exit Productions, which produces music and voiceover sessions.

A number of friends and colleagues in the Nashville music scene have shared Pharr’s original link and asked for further prayers and information.
