The new song from Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release Sarfira is here! The peppy song titled Chaawat, sung by Shreya Ghoshal, is tailored to Akshay’s role as he marries the character played by Radhikka. Chaawat is almost a scene-for-scene remake of the superhit Kaattu Payale from Soorarai Pottru. Chaawat or Kaatuka Kanule?

Chaawat also begins with Radhikka’s character selling pamphlets for her small business on a rickshaw while Akshay follows her on a bike. They exchange glances and Akshay kisses her on the forehead. The scene then shifts to Akshay and Radhikka tying the knot in a traditional Maharashtra wedding. The two fall in love and support each other in their ambitions. Chaawat is composed by GV Prakash Kumar and penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla while the song is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

Kaattu Payale also described the growing attraction between Suriya and Aparna Balamurali’s characters in Soorarai Pottru. The Telugu version of the song, Kaatuka Kanule, was a major hit upon its release, while the Telugu version garnered 100 million views on YouTube. Soorarai Pottru also received widespread critical acclaim after its release, winning five national awards including the Best Feature Film.

Set in the world of startups and the aviation industry, Sarfira features Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas in key roles. Directed by Sudha Kongara, who also directed Soorarai Pottru, Akshay’s character in Sarfira overcomes financial and other obstacles to get a meeting with a business tycoon, played by Paresh Rawal, who owns the country’s largest airline.

Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South Indian superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment). The film will be released on July 12.
