Mariah The Scientist pleads not guilty and requests jury trial in club brawl case

Mariah The Scientist has officially pleaded not guilty in connection with a much-discussed incident at an Atlanta club earlier this year.

The altercation, which reportedly involved Mariah and Cleopatra Dues, shocked social media users when footage of a physical altercation emerged.

Dues reportedly claimed that Mariah approached her, forcibly removed her wig and dragged her across the floor of Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail Lounge, which was their first interaction.

In May, the musician was arrested and charged with simple assault.

Recent court documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop show that her attorney, Brian Steel, is pushing for a jury trial to fully investigate the allegations.

Mariah has remained tight-lipped on the matter, but is expected to make a statement in court soon.

Adding to the turmoil, Mariah’s personal life is also under pressure as her boyfriend, rapper Young Thug, faces legal battles of his own.

Because he is currently incarcerated on RICO charges, his trial has been delayed.

Recently, the defense called for the resignation of Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville following a contentious ex parte meeting with prosecutors and witness Kenneth Copeland.

The case has been put on hold until a new judge reviews the situation. To ensure transparency, Glanville plans to release a transcript of the hearing.

This development in Young Thug’s trial, already the longest in the state’s history, makes an already tense situation even more complex.
