Rite Aid announces closure of 12 locations in Michigan

One of the country’s most well-known drugstores may be afraid of closing forever. It’s never a good thing when a company announces it’s closing dozens of stores in every state, and that’s exactly what Rite Aid is doing.

Recently, a number of closings were announced, many in Michigan alone. Customers were unhappy, as many of them prefer Rite Aid to Walgreens. One customer even said online and in a comment section that he was told to go to Walgreens by someone at a Rite Aid that is currently closing.

This kind of thing can be disheartening when people prefer one over the other, but soon there may be no choice, as a list of Rite Aid stores in Michigan that are set to close was recently released. Below are all of the stores that will soon be vacant, listed alphabetically by city:
  • 15411 Southfield Road, Allen Park
  • 3880 Wilder Road, Bay City
  • 6026 Lapeer Road, Burton
  • G4033 Fenton Road, Burton
  • 4519 Richfield Road, Flint
  • 107 Kercheval Ave., Grosse Pointe Farms
  • 37399 Six Mile Road, Livonia
  • 936 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington
  • 2985 Main Street, Marlette
  • 640 N. Milford Road, Milford
  • 603 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake
  • 1998 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte

How do these closures affect you, and are you concerned that a Rite Aid store may close soon? After these stores close, there will still be 174 Rite Aid stores across Michigan, so only about 10% of Michigan stores will close. Still, that’s not a good sign.
