RICHMOND — Bail for a Nebraska murder suspect has been set at $1.1 million pending extradition to Contra Costa County. Arcencio J. Fernandez-Marquez, 30, is accused of shooting two victims in Richmond before fleeing California.

Richmond officers found two victims in a Richmond Parkway apartment on the evening of June 23. Elizander Narvaez-Fernandez, 26, was later pronounced dead at the scene. The second gunshot victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators learned that a fight broke out at the party that ended in fatal shootings. Richmond police said in a prepared statement, “Investigators quickly gathered information that led to the suspect. The victim and suspect knew each other.”

An arrest warrant was obtained for Fernandez-Marquez, of Richmond, and the vehicle he fled in. An automatic license plate reader near Ogallala, NE, detected the vehicle on the road on June 25. Three local agencies responded to the alert.

Ogallala Police arrested the suspect with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol and the Keith County (NE) Sheriff’s Office. Fernandez-Marquez was booked into the Keith County (NE) Jail on suspicion of murder and carrying a concealed weapon.

Richmond police said: “Our investigators will continue to work to bring him to justice. He will remain in custody in Nebraska pending extradition to California.”
