Ayra Starr reveals what advice Chris Brown gave her during the 11:11 tour

Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr joined the Capital XTRA Breakfast to celebrate the release of her new album and reveal what it was like touring with Chris Brown!

Rising Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr joined Capital XTRA Breakfast to talk about her new album ‘The Year I Turned 21’, her legendary performance at the Glastonbury Pyramid and her recent support slot at Chris Brown’s 11:11 Trip.

The 22-year-old told Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie all about her recent performances, including opening for R&B megastar Chris Brown on his US leg of the 11:11 tour. She said it was “eye-opening, I learned so much.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this before, he’s such an incredible artist.”

About her participation in an arena tour of this magnitude, the singer said: “I looked behind the scenes every night and saw how the show was put together.”

Ayra said the one thing she will always remember about her 11:11 tour experience is a joke: “I should eat before I go on stage!” and to “not take myself too seriously.”

Breezy is currently touring North America with support acts Maeta and Muni Long.

About her new song “Last Heartbreak Song,” which features soulful R&B singer Giveon, she said: “I didn’t think people would be able to relate to it so much. It was really nice to see that.”

Last heartbreak song features some touching lyrics such as “It feels good to love somebody / And somebody loves you too,” and Ayra said the song could be aimed at those who have lost a friend or loved one.

Ayra Starr is known for her Grammy-nominated Afrobeats hit “Rush,” as well as “Commas” and “Girl Next Door” featuring Tyla.
