Pride, Motorboats and Porters: What to Do in West Michigan This Weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — You can escape the heat this weekend with one of West Michigan’s fantastic events.

Here’s a look at what you can do the weekend of June 21st:


Grand Rapids Grand Fondo

The Grand Rapids Grand Fondo The bike tour will take place again this Saturday.

Bikers meet outside the Van Andel Arena and take one of the many rides offered this year. Funds raised will be donated to the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.

The Grand Rapids Pride Festival

This year’s Grand Rapids Pride Festival will take place at Calder Plaza.

This is the city’s 36th Pride Festival and it runs from 12pm to 10pm. There’s plenty to see and entry is completely free.

GR Downtown Market Marketplace for vintage and handmade items

This Sunday you can shop during the Vintage and Handmade Marketplace at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market.

The event will feature more than 60 vendors selling clothing, knick-knacks and other items, and a live DJ will provide the perfect soundtrack while you shop.

Ada Beers at the bridge

Ada Township hosts its newest Beers at the Bridge summer concert this Friday.

Enjoy several local beers on tap while listening to BareNaked 90’s style music at Legacy Park starting at 6pm.

Reeds Lake Run

If you’re looking to work up a sweat this weekend, head over to Reeds Lake for the annual Reeds Lake Run.

The event includes a 10K run, a 5K run, 1-mile runs, and even a 5K dog run for you and your furry friend.

15th Annual Meijer State Games of Michigan

This weekend, athletes across the state will compete in the 15th annual Meijer State Games of Michigan.

More than 6,000 athletes are expected to compete in 28 different sports, from basketball to trap shooting.

Berlin Fair 2024

In Marne, the fun has already begun at the annual Berlin Fair, but there is still time to see everything.

This weekend wrestling is back in Kalamazoo as the WWE Supershow Summer Tour stops at the Wings Event Center.

Relay Race for Life of Calhoun County

This weekend, the Relay for Life Run will take place in Calhoun County to raise awareness and funds for cancer survivors and their families.

The event begins at 3 p.m. on Friday and ends at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Participants shuttle around the race track at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds.
