“Descendants” star Booboo Stewart explains why he shaved off his famous locks and what he did with his old hair

Stewart didn’t like that his hair became “so much” a part of his identity.

Booboo Stewart knows what you think when you hear his name: He is “that guy with long hair.” And that is exactly why the actor from dusk Movies and Disneys Offspring had to cut it.

“Oh, man. I just had such long hair and it had to go,” Stewart said on Wednesday on Ned’s Survival Guide for Shared Podcasts.

Stewart, now 30, explained that he has had long hair since he was a child. He and his sisters only got their hair cut when their father sat them on a stool outside and only trimmed their bangs.

“When I was very young, because everyone at school called me girls, I cut it short,” he said. “Then it grew long again, and then for duskthey cut it short. And then it just got long again.”

However, he didn’t like that it “had become so much of my identity” and he “just wanted to change something.”

When he finished filming Good troubleThe actor, musician and mixed media artist shaved off his hair after the Freeform show, where he appeared until its end in March.

“It feels so good,” said Stewart, who was born Nils Allen Stewart Jr. “I love it.”

He didn’t completely abandon the hair though, as he still has it. He jokingly said he burns it and smells it, before saying he actually keeps it in a bathroom drawer.
