Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach appoints new president

The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach inaugurated its new president, Beverly Flanagan, at the final club meeting of the 2023-24 year on June 27 at Marsh Landing Country Club.

More than 15 of the club’s past presidents were on hand to witness the passing of the gavel to Flanagan, who will succeed President Jennifer Logue in 2023-24.

Before passing the gavel, Logue gave an overview of the club’s many activities and accomplishments over the past year. In addition to raising funds to support Rotary International’s campaign to eradicate polio, Logue said the club completed several international service projects – including supporting clean water projects in Nicaragua and Honduras and hosting an international delegation from Armenia that came to the First Coast to study women leadership.

Club members also participated in numerous local community service activities, from conducting food drives for BEAM and picking up trash along A1A to renovating homes for Habitat for Humanity and preparing and serving meals for organ transplant patients at the Gabriel House of Care.

Another highlight of Flanagan’s inauguration as president was the announcement that the club’s annual Mineral City Celebration gala, which Flanagan chaired, raised $120,000 for distribution to charities in the Beaches region.

The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach holds weekly breakfast meetings on Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. at Marsh Landing Country Club. To become a member or for more information, contact [email protected].
