To support the OHF BACKPACK RAFFLE 2024

CALGARY, AB, Tuesday, July 7, 2024 – The Owen Hart Foundation (OHF), in partnership with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), is excited to host an OHF/AEW Kensington BBQ Block Party in downtown Kensington Plaza in front of the TRAPPED Escape Room on July 9th from 5-7pm. Legendary Canadian wrestler and AEW Superstar Chris Jericho will make a special appearance and take photos with attendees in exchange for a stuffed animal in support of the annual “OHF Community Backpack Giveaway taking place later this summer on Saturday, August 10th”. This initiative provides backpacks, school supplies and additional items (dental hygiene, snacks…) to ensure children in need are prepared for the upcoming school year with the basic tools for successful performance in the classroom. This year, the OHF is providing 2,000 filled backpacks to the public and is once again partnering with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation (ISSP), which is adopting several schools.

The OHF NEEDS 2000 stuffed animals for our children in need. In exchange for a donated new stuffed animal, attendees can attend the OHF/AEW Kensington BBQ Block Party and MEET legendary Canadian wrestler and AEW Superstar Chris Jericho outside the TRAPPED Escape Room for a photo opportunity! Burgers donated by South Street Burger, set up by After Eight Interiors.

Dr. Martha Hart stated, “The Owen Hart Foundation is thrilled to help local families and their children start the school year off on a positive note by providing much-needed backpacks and school supplies. We know there is a real need for this type of endeavor in our community and we are excited that our OHF backpack giveaway has become an annual event that continues to grow and become more traditional.
