M for Montreal announces Bibi Club, Karkwa and Peter Peter for the 2024 MARATHON Festival

One of Montreal’s most influential music discovery festivals has announced its first wave of artists for 2024.


Quebec legends Karkwa, rising indie-pop band Bibi Club and electro-pop artist Peter Peter will take the stage at the fourth edition of MARATHON festival M for Montreal from November 20 to 23.

Other headliners include KROY of Milk & Bone, pop singer-songwriter Claudia Bouvette (both recently featured on Billboard Canada’s Fresh Sounds series), bedroom pop experimentalist P’Tit Belliveau and rapper Ziak.

The festival has also announced the first seven artists from its Official Selection, who will be presented at private industry events. In addition to Bouvette and KROY, Toronto hip-hop artist myst milano., Montreal jazz-pop group Fleece, Vancouver indie-pop duo Vox Rea, R&B singer Naomi and Francouvertes winner Soleil Launière will participate in the Official Selection program. There will be 28 artists in total on the Official Selection, with the full lineup to be released in September.

The MARATHON festival takes place at major venues in Montreal, such as MTELUS, Fairmount Theatre and Club Soda. Music fans and industry professionals flock to downtown Montreal for four days to enjoy performances by 100 artists. It will be a jam-packed program with 30 concerts at 20 venues in Montreal.

M for Montreal is a festival for the local, national and international industry with a reputation for helping artists connect with potential team members and collaborators and for promoting the export of Quebec and Canadian talent to the global market.

With industry-exclusive networking events, panel discussions and performances, the festival can be an important opportunity for emerging artists.
