Is Taylor Swift skipping her annual 4th of July party?

Taylor Swift is one of the biggest celebrities in the world. As such, she is known for throwing very exclusive parties, none of which are as iconic as her annual Fourth of July bash, which has hosted guests such as the Haim sisters, Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, and more. This year, things seem to be different due to Swift’s incredibly busy schedule.

Swift will travel to Amsterdam with her record-breaking Eras Tour, where she will perform on July 4, 5 and 6. She will perform alongside Paramore, the band that is currently opening for Swift and with whom the singer has a long-standing friendship.

In years past, Swift has hosted parties for her closest friends on the day. Last year, she hosted a party for single girls and shared a photo with the Haim sisters, her close friend Gomez, and others. “Belated Happy Independence Day from the independent girls in your neighborhood,” she captioned the post.

Some history about Swift’s 4th of July parties

Swift’s history with the Fourth of July goes way back. In 2013, she appears to have thrown her first such party, sharing a photo of herself and her friends at her Watch Hill, Rhode Island home, where she usually hosts such gatherings. She and her friends are all wearing bathing suits and jumping for the camera. “Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year,” she wrote in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. “This time, my tour family joined me at the beach and I wanted to share some of the pictures with you guys because you guys are the reason we can all tour together.”

The following year, her party became even more popular, with guests including Lena Dunham, Jessica Szhor, Stone and Garfield, as well as models like Jamie King, Jessica Stam and more. Since then, the parties have gotten more and more elaborate, with matching swimsuits, custom T-shirts, inflatable slides, sparklers and more. We’ll have to wait and see if Swift throws a Fourth of July party abroad, with many of her European friends in attendance. If not, there’s always next year.
