Singer Pranysqa Mishra from America’s Got Talent 2024 is rehearsing for the AGT live shows, which are scheduled to air in mid-August.

Outside of AGT, Mishra is best known for her numerous appearances at various sporting events where she sings the national anthem. As noted on her YouTube page, one of Mishra’s earliest recorded performances singing “Star-Spangled Banner” was at the NCAA Men & Women’s Basketball in New York in February 2021.

Since then, she has sung the national anthem at an NBA game with the Miami Heat, an NHL game with the Florida Panthers, and at the opening ceremony of the 2023 US Open Tennis Championships. Even actor Danny Davito was impressed by the ceremony and gave her a standing ovation.

According to several posts on her Instagram account, she credits her powerful vocals to her coach Sharmayne Thomas, who goes by @confidentvoiceacademy on the platform. In Mishra’s short interview during the AGT audition, she also cites her grandmother as a source of inspiration, which is why Mishra called her right after the audition.

Mishra joins other singers who received a Golden Buzzer for Season 19, including Richard Goodall and Liv Warfield, in the semifinals. She will compete against other young talents such as 10-year-old heavy metal guitarist Maya Neelakantan for the grand prize of $1 million.

Mishra can sing a variety of songs, mostly in the music genres of pop and soul.

Aside from the national anthem, she has experience singing “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato, “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion, “Chandelier” by Sia and “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. In an interview with Great Day Live in Tampa in 2023, Mishra also revealed that her favorite songs include “Listen” by Beyoncé and generally “high-pitched songs” that she can belt out. This will stand her in good stead when it comes to impressing the live audience and viewers during the upcoming semifinals.

During her AGT audition, Mishra revealed that some of her favorite artists are Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Whitney Houston. In that regard, she sang Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way” on stage at the Apollo Broadway Theater in New York City in October 2022. So, we wouldn’t be surprised if she chooses this song again for her semifinals (or finals, if she makes it through the judging).

Overall, she has a lot of options to choose from for her next performance. We’re not sure when Mishra will appear on the AGT live shows yet, as NBC hasn’t announced which contestants will be paired up for the semifinals. We’ll likely find out more once all eight audition episodes are over. We should also note that the talent show will take a short two-week break after auditions conclude, as NBC will be airing the 2024 Paris Olympics between July 26 and August 11, 2024.
