Travis Kelce says it was his idea to be on stage with Taylor Swift: “Then I could work too”

It turns out Travis Kelce‘s surprise appearance on stage with his girlfriend Taylor SwiftThe show in London was entirely his idea.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke about the moment on his New heights Podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. “I mentioned it to Tay. I thought, ‘How fun would it be if I could just ride one of the bikes during the 1989 era (of the show)?'” he recalled. He said she laughed and then asked him, “Would you seriously be willing to do something like that?”

“I was like, ‘What? I’d love to do that, are you serious? I’ve seen the show enough times, so I might as well get in line here,'” he said. “And sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me.”

The “perfect part” came during the “I can do it with a broken heart” section – not the bikes, “in case I bumped into someone or hit one of the dancers,” Travis joked. “It was kind of the safest option.”

However, there was a security problem.

During the segment, Travis carried Taylor to a couch and he recalled, “Listen, the only thing I said to myself was, ‘Don’t drop the baby… don’t drop Taylor when you walk to that damn couch.'”

“It was an absolute blast,” he said. “It was such a fun, playful part of the show and it was like… the perfect time for me to go up there and just do theater and have fun… it was great. … And I didn’t disappoint Taylor, that’s all that really matters.”

In fact, Taylor said after the performance: wrote on Instagram: “I’m still laughing my head off about @killatrav‘s Eras Tour debut.”
