Why Taylor Swift won’t have her 4th of July party in 2024

Taylor Swift isn’t celebrating her annual Fourth of July party this election year, but the reason has little to do with politics. This holiday, the singer will be far from her beach house in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, where she’s hosted her parties in the past – and will instead be on stage in Amsterdam.

Swift will perform three concerts on the Eras Tour in the Netherlands from Thursday, July 4th to Saturday, July 6th. It is unclear whether her boyfriend Travis Kelce will accompany her at the concerts. However, he gave a preview in his podcast: New heightstoday that he would probably be on stage with her again soon.

Swift used to host Independence Day celebrations every year until she stopped in 2016. (That was the year she dated Tom Hiddleston, and he wore the infamous “I Heart TS” tank top at one of her most reported Independence Day parties.)

Last year, she brought the party back, sharing Instagrams of her celebration with Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters and other friends. It was just before her love story with Travis Kelce began, as evidenced by her caption announcing her then-upcoming Kansas City Eras tour concert.

“Belated Happy Independence Day from the independent girls in your neighborhood 😎,” she wrote on July 7. “See you tonight Kansas Cityyy.”

Swift explained The guard in 2019 that Swift did not hold Taymerica celebrations for years after the 2016 election due to her “disillusionment” with America.

In an interview with Fashion“You know, in the summer before the election (2016), all people were saying was: ‘She is calculating. She is manipulative. She is not what she seems. She is a snake. She is a liar.” Swift recalled, going on to explain why she did not endorse a candidate in that election. “These are the exact same insults that people threw at (then presidential candidate) Hillary Clinton. Would I be a support or would I be a liability? Look, birds of a feather flock together. Look, the two lying women. Those two nasty women. Literally millions of people told me to disappear. So I disappeared. In many ways.”
