The manager of Club Volcano, who calls himself Antuan, said he came to the club around 4 a.m. after receiving the news, having left the venue just a few hours earlier.

“When I got here, it wasn’t that bad… And then it got bad,” Antuan says.

On Tuesday around 11 a.m., fire and rescue services were still on site after the accident.

Antuan said this afternoon that he is still emotionally shaken but that this is not the first time the club has faced adversity.

Management says tomorrow’s holiday will be a difficult time for everyone whose livelihood depends on their business.

“We’re all a team, we just pitch in and do what we have to do to make it work. Because… we take care of a lot of people, so, yeah,” Antuan said.

The owner of Club Volcano declined an interview but says he is grateful for the great support.

When asked what comes next, the CEO says: “We will just keep going.”

“That’s how we do it. Just get stuck in and carry on.”
