This intersection has been declared the most dangerous in Michigan

According to a study by attorneys specializing in traffic accident law, the intersection of Interstate 696/11 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue once again tops the list of the 20 most dangerous roads in Michigan.

Located on the border of Warren and Center Line in Macomb County, the intersection ranked No. 1 on the Michigan Auto Law’s list of dangerous intersections for 2022.

The Farmington Hills-based law firm released its list for this year on Tuesday.

“Michigan Auto Law’s goal is to give drivers the information they need to make safe decisions for themselves and their families, whether they need to take an alternate route or be extra cautious when traveling through one of the intersections on Michigan’s most dangerous intersections list,” the firm said in a statement.

The release coincides with a new public safety campaign to raise awareness of some of the state’s most dangerous intersections. As part of the campaign, the law firm has placed billboards at several intersections that appear on the list each year.

To compile the annual list, the firm’s attorneys analyze Michigan State Police data on car crashes at intersections across the state for the past year. Intersections are defined for the list as roads with a traffic light, an intersection with four stop signs, or a roundabout. The data includes crashes and injuries that occurred within 200 feet of an intersection.
