Adam Levine is unrecognizable with his rocker hair down to his chin

Adam Levine has undergone a hair transformation over the years – and we have the photos to prove it.

A 2019 Apple Music video slideshow shows the style evolution of Levine and his Maroon 5 bandmates. From the band’s early years to their breakthrough in the early 2000s, Levine changed his look several times before settling on the buzzcut we know and love. Perhaps the biggest symbol of Levine’s hair transformation is the last photo in this slideshow, where he’s sporting chin-length, ’90s faux-grunge hair. With hair that long, he’s almost unrecognizable.

It’s fitting that the slideshow is set to Maroon 5’s iconic song “Memories,” as it’s a true trip down memory lane.

When was Adam Levine on The voice?

Levine served as coach for The voice in seasons 1–16 and will return for season 27, which premieres in spring 2025. He has won seasons 1, 5, and 9 of the show and is seeking a fourth win against his fellow season 27 coaches John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Bublé.

After the season 27 coaches were announced, Levine took to social media to express his excitement about his return.

“Season 27, yes, I’m coming back, I’m so excited,” he said. “I can’t wait. I’m well rested. I’m ready to go. I’m a little nervous – (well) I’m not nervous, but I’m so excited.”

As confident as ever, Levine admitted he’ll “feel sorry” for the other teams and promised another win before Season 27 even begins.

“It’s going to be great, I can’t wait,” he continued. “It’s going to be amazing, here we go! Team Adam is back. I feel sorry for the other teams. Here we go. Season 27 is going to be different. Yes, I’m back! I’m really excited, guys.” Agree Family, here we come. Let’s go!”

Nevertheless, Ballerini will not go down without a fight. “I am firmly convinced that I really have to fight against Adam Levine,” she joked to People. “I know it’s a big deal that he’s coming back, but yeah – I feel like we’re going to be enemies. Just kidding. I did get some words of encouragement from Blake (Shelton) about how to beat him though!”
