Josh Jacobs: Jordan Love will definitely be the next superstar in this league

After sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for three seasons, quarterback Jordan Love shone in his first chance to be a full-time starter in 2023.

He led the Packers to a playoff berth and a postseason win, securing a significant contract extension sooner or later.

Veteran running back Josh Jacobs has signed as a free agent with the Green Bay Packers and said in an interview with NFL Network on Tuesday that he has observed some special qualities in the quarterback.

“For me, just from what I have seen, he has all the qualities and all the tools to a superstar in this league“, Jacobs said. “I think if he continues to play, gain experience and gain more confidence in his abilities and what he can do, he will definitely be the next superstar in this league.”

Love finished the 2023 regular season completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. His final eight starts have been particularly impressive, as he completed 70.3 percent of his throws for 2,150 yards with 18 touchdowns and one interception, leading Green Bay to a 6-2 record during that span.

With the quarterback currently set to become a free agent in March 2025, the Packers and Love have signaled that they would like to agree to a contract extension before training camp begins later this month.
