National nonprofit Petco Love invests ,500 in Rutland County Humane Society

The Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) is set to receive a $7,500 grant from statewide nonprofit Petco Love to support its lifesaving work for animals in Rutland County, according to a June 26 press release.

Petco Love is leading the change for pets by using the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $400 million in adoptions and other life-saving efforts. And Petco Love, in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations—like RCHS—across North America, helps find loving homes for pets. 6.8 million pets have been adopted and the number is growing.

“Our investment in the Rutland County Humane Society is part of a recently announced investment of over $15 million by Petco Love to support local organizations across the country. This is part of our commitment to a future where no pet is needlessly euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are just one part of our strategy to empower pet lovers to join us in driving life-saving change. We launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses patented image recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“RCHS is very grateful for the ongoing partnership with Petco Love, which financially supports our programs for the pets and people of Rutland County. Their continued generosity has allowed us to provide medical care, comfort and love to the pets in our care,” said Beth Saradarian, Executive Director of the Rutland County Humane Society.

The Rutland County Humane Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a responsible and humane community. RCHS provides shelter and loving care for at-risk animals and pets in Rutland County, finding them loving homes. Since 1959, RCHS estimates it has cared for or fostered over 125,000 animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and in its early years, skunks, loons, fawns, goats, and horses.
