As fast-food consumers continue to value and sometimes demand value, Sonic has joined competitors like McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Wendy’s in introducing a new value menu. But while those brands’ value-priced deals are only for a limited time — McDonald’s $5 meal deal expires at the end of July, for example — there’s no end in sight for Sonic’s menu.

“This is a value menu that is here to stay and is not just a temporary response to consumer complaints,” a Sonic spokesperson said. Entrepreneur.

Sonic’s FUN.99 menu

Sonic’s new $1.99 menu – which the brand calls the FUN.99 menu – features a variety of dishes, including two new Bacon Ranch and Southwest Crunch Queso Wraps.

Other FUN.99 items include a Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger, Chili Cheese Coney, Small Tots and 16-ounce Sonic Shakes.

KFC, Taco Bell and others

In addition to McDonald’s and Wendy’s, other companies in the industry, including Burger King, Taco Bell and KFC, have also launched limited-time deals, mainly focusing on the $5 price range.

Burger King, for example, recently launched its $5 “Your Way Meal” deal, which includes a Whopper Jr., Chicken Jr. or Bacon Cheeseburger with four chicken nuggets, fries and a drink. This deal is valid all summer long.

In addition, through the end of the year, the KFC meal for one person is available for $4.99, which includes two pieces of dark meat chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and a bun.

Free fries and frosties

In addition to their respective benefit offers, McDonald’s and Wendy’s are offering customers the opportunity to receive free orders of their specialty products – French fries and Frosties. McDonald’s is offering free medium fries with any $1 purchase through the mobile app every Friday through the end of 2024. On Saturday, July 13, in honor of National French Fry Day, customers can receive free French fries of any size when they order through the McDonald’s app, with no purchase necessary.

Wendy’s customers can get a free small Frosty with a $5 Biggie Bag through the Wendy’s app. With the purchase of a $3 Frosty keychain, customers will receive a free Jr. Frosty with every purchase through the end of 2024. Proceeds will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
