Batman fights a werewolf in DC’s new horror series

Batman prepares to take on a supernatural werewolf in a new DC Black Label title this Halloween season. Batman: Full Moona monthly series of four issues, will be released on October 9th.




The new series will be written by Eisner-nominated author Rodney Barnes (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke Cage: Gang War) and shows art by Stevan Subic (The Riddler: Year One). In Batman: Full MoonAn ancient, supernatural werewolf is wreaking havoc on the streets of Gotham City, forcing the Dark Knight to step in to protect his hometown. On his journey to take down the werewolf, Batman even encounters some of the DC Universe’s most powerful magicians, including Zatanna Zatara, who warn him that he may not emerge from this encounter unscathed. Batman: Full Moon No. 1 will be available in stores on October 9th.

In announcing the new Black Label series, DC shared that each issue of the series will feature a glow-in-the-dark main cover by series artist Subic. The first issue’s cover was revealed along with various covers by Steve Beach, Francesco Francavilla, and Mike Perkins. The first issue’s interior art shows the werewolf wreaking havoc among the citizens while Batman pursues him in the shadows.

DC’s Black Label Imprint Presents Plastic Man, Zatanna and More

DC Comics’ Black Label imprint tells original stories for adult audiences ages 17 and up. Several of DC’s best-known writers and artists have produced stories published through the imprint, including Frank Miller, Greg Capullo, Scott Snyder, Tom King, and James Tynion IV. Black Label titles are published in what DC calls a “prestige format,” which is wider and taller than regular-size comic books, with each issue also having a cardstock cover.
