Travis Kelce revealed an intrusive thought as he carried Taylor Swift on stage

Travis Kelce rose to prominence a few weeks ago when he surprised the Eras Tour audience in London on June 23 by appearing on stage with his girlfriend Taylor Swift as she prepared for her performance of her latest album. The “Tortured Poets” section.

In the season finale of Kelce’s podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, New heightsthe Kansas City Chiefs star explained how his guest appearance came about. But despite the excitement of being on stage with his girlfriend, an international pop star, in front of over 160,000 fans at Wembley Stadium, one thought was on his mind: Don’t drop Taylor Swift.

“Listen, the only thing I told myself is, ‘Don’t drop the baby. Don’t drop that — don’t drop Taylor when you’re walking to that damn couch,'” Kelce said. “The golden rule was, ‘Don’t drop Taylor when you’re walking her to the couch.'”

The three-time Super Bowl champion then compared the moment to what his former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy always said about holding onto a football.

“Coach Bieniemy always said, ‘This ball contains our dreams, goals and hopes. Don’t drop the ball,'” Kelce said with a laugh.

The guest appearance on stage was apparently originally Kelce’s idea, but Swift took it to a whole new level.

“I mentioned it to Tay first. I thought, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled off on one of the bikes during the ‘1989’ part of the show,'” Kelce said. “She started laughing. She was like, ‘Would you seriously be willing to do something like that?’ … And sure enough, she found the perfect, perfect part of the show for me. There was no bike in case I bumped into someone else or hit one of the dancers or did something like that. That was the safest option.”

Kelce made sure to add personal elements to the moment, such as a dance from the film Dumb and Dumber.
