PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh, now is your chance to have your say and have a say in the name of Pittsburgh’s new women’s soccer club.

The Riverhounds are asking their fans to vote on the name of their women’s club. The finalists are: Pittsburgh Confluence, Pittsburgh Renegades, Pittsburgh Riveters and Pittsburgh Strikers.

Fans can now vote for their favorites until July 19th.

Earlier this year, the Riverhounds announced that a professional women’s soccer team would come to Pittsburgh in 2025.

Once the team name is selected, the person who submitted the name will receive two season tickets for the team’s first season, a jersey and a bag full of merchandise.

The 2024 season did not go well for the men’s team in Pittsburgh.

They currently sit 11th in the USL Championship League with a record of 3-8-6, just one year after finishing atop the conference, and will finish the 2023 season with a record of 19-5-10.

Despite a successful regular season, the Riverhounds lost 1-0 to Detroit City FC in the conference quarterfinals.
