This legendary singer is unrecognizable in his costume as Posh Spice

He is part of one of the highest-selling bands of all time and a three-time Grammy Award winner.

But this 61-year-old music star looked a world away from his usual rocker self as he dressed up as Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, in a throwback snap.

The singer, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, was accompanied in the photo by his two bandmates during their performance in honor of the Spice Girls.

The rocker and his band, which were founded in the 80s, landed their first number one hit in 1999 with “Give It Away”.

They have since received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022 – but can you guess who is in the picture?

Did you guess correctly? It’s none other than the founding member and lead singer of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis.

He was joined by his bandmates Flea, 61, whose real name is Michael Peter Balzary, who transformed into Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), and John Frusciante, 54, into Sporty Spice (Mel C).

The singer proved he’s all about his friends when he transformed into Posh Spice for Flea’s daughter Clara’s 10th birthday in 2017.

Flea had Clara, now 35, with his ex-wife Loesha Zeviar and is also the father of 18-year-old Sunny Bebop with Frankie Rayder.

In December 2022, he had his third child with his current wife Melody Ehsani.

Anthony wore a black strapless crop top and miniskirt and completed Victoria’s iconic look with a black short wig.

Meanwhile, Flea dressed as Emma Bunton in a pink mini dress and a blonde wig and John slipped into a Mel C-style tracksuit.

Flea shared the throwback snap on Instagram and wrote: “When we saw the Spice Girls perform for my daughter Clara’s 10th birthday.”

“John – athletic, Anthony – posh, me – baby and the amazing Chris Warren was a scary Spice guy but unfortunately he’s cropped out of this photo, believe me he looked beautiful. We seriously practiced our moves and gave the kids our best performance!”

The throwback snapshot was taken after it was announced earlier this year that Universal Pictures was working on a biopic about Anthony Kiedis.

The rights to his 2004 memoir “Scar Tissue” were acquired by the film production company, with Kiedis is to produce the feature film.

The film, which is currently in early development, is also being produced by Brian Grazer and Guy Oseary, Deadline reports.

The rights to the frontman’s 2004 memoir “Scar Tissue” were acquired by the film production company, and Kiedis is set to produce the feature film.

“Scar Tissue” landed at number one on the New York Times bestseller list when it was first published in 2004.

In his acclaimed book, Kiedis wrote about his unconventional relationship with his father, who was a drug addict and passed his drug addiction on to his son.

The book also covers the death of Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and founder Hillel Slovak, who died of a heroin overdose at the age of 26.

But Kiedis previously admitted that he regrets writing his memoir, which once led to a falling out with his bandmate Flea after he revealed in the book that he had slept with his friend’s sister.

In 2016, Kiedis told The Sun: “For a while I regretted the book because it hurt. But then I started to see the long-term positive effects. People in hospitals, prisons and schools read it and it had a positive impact.”

“I realized that my purpose in writing this book was not to tell myself something, but to show that someone can go to the very bottom and come back to the very top and live a productive, successful, happy and interesting life.”

“And no matter what shame, pain, difficulty or discomfort I went through, it was worth it because so many people come to me and say their children read it and it helped them get their act together.”

Kiedis has been the frontman of this multi-platinum band since its formation in the late 1980s and often appears shirtless on stage at concerts.

He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and grew up in Los Angeles from the age of twelve.

He spent much of his musical career writing lyrics about his experiences in the city.

Kiedis co-founded the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1982 along with guitarist Slovak, bassist Flea (Michael Balzary) and drummer Jack Irons.

The group has sold over 120 million records worldwide, had nine top 10 albums, won six Grammys and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

In his memoirs, Kiedis rHe admitted that he accidentally tried heroin for the first time at the age of 14 because he mistook it for cocaine.

From 2004 to 2008 he was in a relationship with Heather Christie. The couple has a son, 16-year-old Everly Bear Kiedis.
