Webex Calling: How the latest voice compliance integration covers it all

Webex Calling: How the latest voice compliance integration covers it all

Say it loud – the voice is back.

Making calls is more important than ever, thanks in large part to the intelligence of the massive, feature-rich unified communications platforms on which much of the world’s business is now conducted.

Omnichannel functionality that allows users to connect and interact anytime, anywhere is a huge advantage in terms of usability, but the increasing size and complexity of the backend presents new challenges for those responsible for regulatory compliance and security.

Voice monitoring, capture, archiving and risk detection capabilities must be of the highest quality. With the number of users increasing worldwide, it is crucial that cloud calling platforms ensure that their customers fully covered.

For them, selecting an experienced partner to integrate data security and compliance solutions is crucial.

“There are tremendous and diverse benefits to routing voice calls through organizations’ preferred unified communications and collaboration platforms, but to fully realize the benefits, automatically recording, reviewing and archiving those calls must be a seamless part of the process,” said Garth Landers, director of global product marketing at digital communications management solutions leader Theta Lake, which recently announced new voice compliance integration with Cisco’s Webex Calling, Webex Go and Customer Experience Essentials.

“For employees, the ability to use chat, voice and video in one place increases productivity and collaboration. For companies, it reduces capital expenditure on voice infrastructure and simplifies administration.”

Webex Calling is Cisco’s flagship cloud-based phone system, used by over 15 million users in over 160 markets worldwide. It is a core component of the Webex Suite, which includes Webex Meetings, Messaging, Contact Center Lite features, and more.

Theta Lake has designed and built an integrated solution that enables regulated organizations to leverage the richer feature set of Webex while enabling compliance with regulations to ensure fairness of market, protect against abuse of authority, and protect private data.

The turnkey archiving, compliance, monitoring and data security products integrate natively into the Webex portfolio and provide comprehensive, multilingual support for a range of modalities, including business texting (SMS), voice recordings and call detail records (CDRs).

There’s compliant voice recording, flexible storage options to bring your own data or SEC 17A-4 Theta Lake archiving, monitoring and compliance checking of Webex Calling content, and unified management of all recording operations. Inbound, outbound and peer-to-peer SMS (including emojis) are supported, recorded and unrecorded call logs are configured, and support for Webex Go means all functionality is extended to mobile devices.

“It’s a truly comprehensive and feature-rich integration that enables compliant voice and SMS archiving, call logs and metadata retention, search and risk detection,” says Landers. “It seamlessly captures all user Webex content across meeting recordings, polls, chat, messaging, voice calls and SMS, and enables native search across SMS conversations and voice recordings. In short, it provides Webex users with all the compliance capabilities they need to completely de-risk their entire communications ecosystem.”

In fact, Cisco itself is of this opinion.

“Webex customers have already used Theta Lake’s compliance features for Webex Meetings, Messaging and Polling with great success,” said Amey Parandekar, Vice President of Product Management at Webex. “Hundreds of thousands of users worldwide are already benefiting from our built-in features, so I’m excited that Theta Lake now supports Webex Calling compliance, including call detail recordings, voice recordings and business text modalities. We will continue to innovate together and meet the comprehensive compliance and security requirements of the most demanding customers around the world.”

It sounds like Webex users can rest assured that everything is covered.
