Chris Hemsworth broke the rules at the Met Gala

Chris Hemsworth violated the strict “no cell phones” rule when he attended the 2024 Met Gala earlier this month.

The 40-year-old Australian actor attended the glamorous fashion event in New York City with his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky (47).

The event attracts the biggest top talent from around the world – they are expected to adhere to strict rules regarding social media and photography.

But Chris, the star of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, apparently didn’t get the memo, telling E! News: “Selfies everywhere. Lots of selfies on my phone. Like, ‘When did I do that? Let’s delete that.'”

Vogue had previously reported that event attendees were prohibited from bringing their mobile phones to the ball or sharing pictures from the event on their social media feeds.

Chris added that he and Elsa still enjoy being on the red carpet, explaining: “My wife and I live in Australia, so we’re not jaded by big award shows yet because it’s still new and exciting.”

“And this particularly diverse group of people was different than the usual audience at the film awards shows that we do… athletes, musicians, artists, so we had a really fun night.”

The annual event raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and is overseen by Vogue magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

The Thor star hosted the event alongside Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez and Bad Bunny.
