Voice actor Frank West will not return for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Voice actor Frank West will not return for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Dead Rising Deluxe PS5

Terence Rotolo, the voice actor who voiced the main character Frank West in the original Dead Rising, will not be returning for the recently released deluxe remaster. Capcom announced that the enhanced remaster would feature modernized graphics and a crisp 60 frames per second, but fans quickly noticed that the main character’s voice had also changed.

Spotted by PSLS, Twitter user FrankByDaylight shared rxysinister’s successful slide into Rotolo’s Instagram direct messages, with the actor only revealing that he was never approached to reprise the role. Rotolo seemed up to the task, but Capcom apparently had someone else in mind for the role: “I have always been grateful for every opportunity to bring Frank to life. I just wasn’t called upon for this mission. The reasons lie with the producer himself.”

The original Dead Rising was released in 2006, and Rotolo reprised the role of West in 2016’s Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (a reimagining of Dead Rising 2) and in 2017’s Capcom cross-series fighting game Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite. The actor’s last work for Capcom was Exoprimal (2023).
