Buy the sports bra Taylor Swift wore during Eras tour rehearsals

As a shopping editor, my eye is trained to spot things that other people might miss. For example, when we all ohhh And ahh about Taylor Swift’s iconic TIME “Person of the Year” profile, I noticed that Tay was wearing an interesting sports bra in one of her Eras Tour dance rehearsal photos. I did a little research and it turns out she was wearing the Forme Power Bra, a posture correcting bra Designed to properly align your shoulders and upper back. Chic, chic!

Considering how strenuous Taylor’s rehearsals for the Eras tour were (“Every day I ran on the treadmill and sang along loudly to the entire setlist,” she told TIME), the supportive gear, designed by an orthopedic surgeon, makes perfect sense.

And while my days consist more of imagining myself singing “Blank Space” while doing Hot Girl Walking on the treadmill than Strictly speaking When I was doing stadium tours, I immediately thought that the Forme Power Bra could be just the posture solution I needed. Well, why not, I’d like to sit less like a shrimp and more like a 6′ pop star. So I gave it a try – read on to find out if Taylor’s sports bra is worth the money.

How the bra works

If the term “posture correction device” conjures up images of a scary, hardware-packed machine, think again. The sports bra is less supportive and more supportivewith Fabrics with different tension throughout the design to keep your shoulders back and gently guide your body in correct alignment whether you are standing, sitting or exercising!

The Power Bra comes in seven colors (Jade, Black, Stone, Rosé, Ecru, Sage and Cloud) in sizes Size To 3XLsome of which are currently on backorder. As for the price, I have to admit that at $182, it’s not the cheapest product on the market. But thanks to FDA-registered technology, it’s definitely fancier than your average sports bra – you can even spend your pre-tax HSA money on it if you want!

First thoughts

To demonstrate my commitment to testing everything Blondie owns, I’m going to tell you everything I did. In fact, I tried the sports bra on in a very small office bathroom stall (see proof photos below). And NGL, it was a bit tricky to get on at first! But don’t let that put you off! It was easier the second time, and even easier the third time, and the fourth time, and so on. The brand recommends stretching the arm opening a few times before wearing, which I found helpful.

My first reaction was that the Forme bra really helps you pay attention to your posture. I even tried to hunch my shoulders forward once and suddenly I realized that it much harder than usual to let my shoulders hang into Gremlin mode. It acted as a friendly reminder that the most comfortable sitting position is with the shoulders pulled down and back.

Also, I should note that I have mild scoliosis and was worried that the bra would feel like a brace because my spine is a tiny bit off-center in its natural resting position. But I had no problems—it even supported my one shoulder, which tends to pop out!

As for size, cosmos Deputy Purchasing Manager Kim Duong and I tried our regular sizes and both found the sports bra damn tight. It is very compressive and has no cups – this resulted in a Regency-style neckline that was flat from the side and visible from the front. Bridgerton, so I would suggest If you have a large chest, choose a larger sizeKim and I agreed that the Power Bra, which consists of a fairly thin, airy sports materialwould be greatly improved by the addition of removable cups or padding inserts.

My observations after a few months of wearing…

I had the most fun wearing the Power Bra on my busiest, most active days. I’m talking about fitness classes, running to catch the bus, and lugging boxes out of a friend’s apartment – on those days the garment felt less tight and more supportive, just like a good pair of compression leggings or a high-impact sports bra helps with your performance.

Anyway, I had trouble wearing it for long periods of time on work days when I was typing away at my desk, especially when I started wearing the Power Bra. At the end of the day, I was dying to take the sports bra off. My body was tired of spending hours reminding me to sit perfectly straight, and it felt great to take off the posture-correcting garment.

But after getting used to the sports bra for a few months, I actually feel a sense of relief when I put on the Power Bra after lounging around all day. It’s a way of reminding my body that it ultimately feels best when it’s properly aligned, rather than automatically falling into a weird, compressed curve. But it’s definitely something that practiced endurance to carry for longer periods of time, so don’t give up!

Kim had a similar experience: “It is not the miracle bra one can only hope. It definitely takes some active willpower to change your casual habits,” she explained. “Overall, I think it would be a good bra to wear when running errands or rehearsing for a world tour, but I found it too unfortunately too uncomfortable for me to wear at my desk.”

And as for the results? While wearing the Power Bra would improve my posture immediately, have not seen any noticeable, lasting difference in my posture, even though I “trained” it by wearing the Power Bra under my clothes. When I took it off, I felt like I was slumping back into my slight but normal casual posture. All the posture magic seems to happen while you wear the Power Brawhich is why I would recommend it as extra support during a yoga class, dance practice, or a very active day…not as something you wear every! single! day! in the hopes of magically improving your posture.

Advantages:

    • Promotes better posture and a straighter spine
    • Does not restrict movement during training
    • Becomes easier to install over time
    • Breathable mesh ensures optimal ventilation
    • Available in different colors and sizes
    • Can be purchased with HSA money

Disadvantages:

    • The price of 182 US dollars is proud
    • No cups or removable padding
    • Does not support your lower back, so you can still avoid slouching

The conclusion

While the Power Bra didn’t turn me into a billionaire with an NFL boyfriend (🥲), I completely understand why Taylor invested in this product for her dance rehearsals. The Forme Bra (with stretchier fabric in the front and tighter fabric in the back to properly align your shoulders!) is a a great way to remind yourself to pay attention to your posture when you are activeespecially for shorter periods of time if you can tolerate the strong compression of the tissue.

And although I have not seen any stunning, lasting results During the months of testing, anything that reminds me of what proper alignment should feel like (both aesthetically and for general health reasons) feels like a win in the long run. It was super easy to wear under clothes, so while it won’t be an everyday bra for me, I’ll definitely be using it for Pilates classes, hikes, or more physically demanding days.

Next step? Learning Taylor’s vigilante shit choreography…
