Walker has worked in Stitt’s administration as an adviser to Secretary of State Josh Cockroft and as deputy legal counsel for Stitt.

Stitt said in a statement that Walker has been a valued member of his political and legal team since 2020.

“Character and culture are critical to leadership, and I can’t think of anyone better to help us achieve our vision of being a top-10 state,” Stitt said.

Walker expressed similar sentiments to Stitt in the statement, saying he looked forward to working with Stitt on his vision of a “top ten state.”

“Being asked to serve as Governor Stitt’s new Chief of Staff is a privilege I do not take for granted,” Walker said.

Prior to serving in Stitt’s administration, Walker worked as a middle school teacher, campus chaplain, and research assistant for the Texas House of Representatives.

Walker will assume his new role on August 1.
