Guardians President Chris Antonetti talks about strong season

The Guardians have been one of the best teams in baseball this season and are in sole possession of first place in the AL Central.

They were expected to be a solid team, but not many people expected them to have such a great season, especially when they lost their star player Shane Bieber for the season in the first week.

Chris Antonetti, Guardians President of Baseball Operations, was a guest on “The Show” with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman this week.

Antonetti looks at their impressive season, the upcoming draft and trade deadline, and some key factors behind their winning streak this year.

“The Show” podcast with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman:

  • METS NEEDS: They are in the running for the NL wild card, but need help in the bullpen.
  • YANKEES NEED: They need help on offense. They could also use help in the bullpen.

  • TITO TO VOGT: It was tough to leave coach Terry Francona, but Stephen Vogt has been remarkable and has shown great understanding towards the players and staff. He is one of a kind and brings people together.
  • Overfulfillment: How could they be so good this season?
  • METS: Have you ever thought about the role with the Mets?
  • LINDO: Were you close to re-signing Lindor? Owners made a serious effort to keep him in Cleveland.
  • DEADLINE: What will they try to add before the trade deadline?
  • JOSE RAMIREZ: Is he one of the most underrated players in baseball?
