Gracie Abrams reveals what Travis Kelce told her before he took the stage at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in London.

During Swift’s third night of the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in June, Abrams and Kelce performed onstage with Swift at various parts of the show. Kelce surprised fans when he appeared onstage during the introduction to Swift’s performance of “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.” Abrams sang her new song “Us” during her surprise song set with Swift onstage.

Appearing on “The Morning Mash Up” on SiriusXM Hits 1 on Tuesday, Abrams explained how it all came together.

“Before we both performed, we were in the tent and he said he was just ahead of me – I think two songs or so,” Abrams said. “He said, ‘I’m going to mess this up so you look really good.'”

Not only did Kelce receive cheers from the audience when he came on stage in a tuxedo, he also joined in with Swift’s hilarious performance during her “Tortured Poets Department” performance.

Joining Swift’s tour has been very meaningful for Abrams. She opened for Swift on several North American stops on the Eras Tour last year and will join her on her final Canadian dates later this year.

“I can’t imagine this tour not happening,” Abrams said. “When she said at one of her shows the other day, ‘Oh, this tour ends in December,’ I was like, ‘Man.’ I never even thought that could happen. I’m so excited for everyone to hopefully rest up and stuff, but I’m going to miss it like crazy.”

Swift and Abrams have become close friends over the years. Not only did Abrams open for her on the Eras tour, Swift also co-wrote the song “Us,” which appears on Abrams’ latest album, The Secret of Us.

“It was the best time. It was super spontaneous and that part made it ten times more fun and less stressful,” Abrams said. “I think if I ever knew that at some point in my life I was going to say, ‘Oh, we’re going to sit down and write together,’ I probably would have shut down or something, freaked out, just, you know, just because her writing is the most admired thing in my entire life.”

“But she spoke about it at Wembley, she said something I’ve never said before, but it’s true that when you write with someone you kind of see the whole picture,” she continued. “You see the bigger picture of who they are and it’s her, her enthusiasm and her passion that goes into every single lyric, that really set the bar extra, extra high for me, having now been able to experience it first hand.”
