RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA – Legendary rock band Heart, consisting of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, is canceling their planned concert in Riverside County due to a cancer diagnosis.

74-year-old Ann, the group’s lead singer, announced this on Tuesday.

“I recently had surgery to remove something that turned out to be cancerous,” she said in a social media post. “The surgery was successful and I feel great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo preventative chemotherapy and I have decided to do that.”

Heart was scheduled to perform on November 3 at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside.

Heart’s US Top 40 singles include “Magic Man” (1975), “Crazy on You” (1976), “Barracuda” (1977), “What About Love” (1985), “Never” (1985) and “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You” (1990), as well as the No. 1 hits “These Dreams” (1986) and “Alone” (1987).

Ann is known for her dramatic soprano Vocal range and her opera skills.

Earlier this year, Ann announced that she and Nancy would not be taking part in a European tour due to health reasons.

“To those who bought tickets, I really hope we can do these concerts,” Ann said Tuesday. “Please know that I fully intend to be back on stage in 2025. My team is sorting out these details and we will let you know the plan as soon as possible.”

Ann has long suffered from health problems. She admitted that in the band’s early days she starved herself to stay slim and later suffered panic attacks because of her weight. In the band’s 2012 autobiography, Ann revealed her past struggles with cocaine And alcoholism.

In 2013, Ann was appointed to the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Heart.
