Lebanon sends peace message to Israel via Azerbaijan
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz spoke with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov on Tuesday. According to a report by N12, Bayramov conveyed an important message from the Lebanese foreign minister: “We are interested in peace. We do not want war.”
According to the report, Katz’s response stressed the need for security for Israeli citizens, saying: “We must restore security to our citizens in their homes. If this cannot be achieved through diplomatic means, it must be war.”
This exchange took place against a backdrop of ongoing regional tensions and highlighted the complex dynamics between Israel and its neighbouring countries.
Pressure on Iran
In addition, N12 reported, Israeli ambassadors around the world were notified with the following message: “Political pressure on Iran will prevent war.” This instruction underscored the broader regional strategy and the importance of diplomatic efforts to maintain stability in the Middle East.
During his meeting with Azerbaijan’s top diplomats, Katz discussed, among other things, regional developments in the Middle East. He thanked Bayramov for the close and friendly relations between Israel and Azerbaijan and emphasized the strong ties between the two countries and the plans to further develop these relations.
