How Romeo Doubs became “that guy” for Jordan Love

How Romeo Doubs became “that guy” for Jordan Love

Romeo Doubs has come a long way and was not just another draft pick.

In fact, when he was signed in 2022, there was little thought that Doubs would develop into what he is today.

He was just another draft pick that could add more depth to the Packers’ WR room.

At most we thought he might be a good slot or even 4th WR.

But Doubs proved us wrong.

He had a very successful rookie season with the Packers, although injuries hampered him in 2022.

New beginning in 2023

In 2023, Doubs faced a new opportunity.

With all of the experienced wide receivers out, Doubs had the chance to take a starting position in the Packers’ offense.

Along with a new quarterback, Doubs has the chance to become “the guy” for new star quarterback Jordan Love.

With wide receiver Christian Watson plagued by injuries, Doubs stepped into action and became a man Love could rely on starting in Game 1.

Development in 2023

We saw Romeo Doubs grow up before our eyes.

During the season we saw how much trust Love had in Doubs.

Doubs developed into a reliable WR for Love.

He had at least one reception in every game except the last game against Chicago.

Last year, Doubs also played in all 17 games.

He set career highs in receptions (59), yards (674) and touchdowns (8).

Although the Packers don’t necessarily have a number one receiver, Doubs has all the makings of one.

In 2023, he has proven that he could be the go-to guy in this offense.

Hopes for 2024
