Brookings Area United Way book collection underway

Brookings Area United Way

BROOKINGS – Help introduce children to the magic of reading! Brookings Area United Way is holding a book drive now through July 17.

BAUW is looking for new or used books for children of all ages.

Books collected will be distributed to children at various community events throughout the summer, including the Brookings Bonanza on July 20. Donate books at 908 Hope Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, or email [email protected] to schedule a pickup time.

The book drive is also a joint effort to benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, one of the programs funded by Brookings Area United Way. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is another way for children to receive free books. Children from birth to age 5 receive a free, age-appropriate book each month. It’s easy to sign up by emailing [email protected], calling 605-692-4979 or signing up online at www.imaginationlibrary.com.

Brookings Area United Way is committed to the health, education, and financial stability of all Brookings County residents. This book drive aligns with our mission to unite people, share resources, inspire hope, and enrich lives to strengthen Brookings County by ensuring children have access to books to develop their literacy skills.
