ThriftBooks’ BuyBack program promotes sustainability and gives old books a second life.

One of the largest online booksellers is launching a new program that allows customers to sell their books while helping promote sustainability.

ThriftBooks Global’s new BuyBack program offers customers a convenient way to sell their books directly to ThriftBooks and earn extra cash or credit on the books gathering dust on their bookshelves.

ThriftBooks’ BuyBack program promotes sustainability and gives old books a second life. The online retailer says it accepts high-demand books based on inventory, provided the books are in good condition. Books must be clean, have no water damage, no missing pages, and the spine must be intact, but some wear is acceptable.

“BuyBack was the final piece of the puzzle we needed to help our customers fully participate in the circular economy,” said Ken Goldstein, Chairman and CEO of ThriftBooks Global. “Delivering an exceptional customer experience requires a surprisingly complex set of algorithms, and we have studied the competitive landscape for years. We worked through the details during an extended beta phase and now believe our platform can act on all the knowledge we have gained from our customers. We believe ThriftBooks BuyBack will be the industry standard for Resale and we look forward to continuing to improve this experience through ongoing customer feedback.”
