Highly regarded Ohio OL feels the love from Clemson, Luke

Clemson continues to show great interest in this highly regarded offensive lineman from Ohio and sought-after prospect who enjoys the recruiting process.

Adam Guthrie, a four-star player at Miami Trace High School (Washington Court House, Ohio), has been in contact with numerous programs, including Clemson, since June 15, the day college coaches could begin contacting recruits for the class of 2026.

“The recruiting process has been fun since then,” Guthrie told The Clemson Insider. “Seeing which schools have really strong interest in me is very cool.”

Among the coaches Guthrie, who has over 30 offers, has heard from is Clemson’s Matt Luke.

Guthrie – a top-150 prospect in the national talent pool in the class of 2026 – feels the affection of the Tigers’ new offensive line coach.

“Coach Luke has been in touch with me many times and has shown great interest,” Guthrie said.

What is Luke’s message to the 2.01 m tall and 132 kg young talent?

“He’s just going to court me persistently, but he can’t make me a formal offer until I get on campus,” Guthrie said.

Although he has no plans to visit Clemson this summer, Guthrie is considering a game day in Death Valley next season. It would be his first trip to Tiger Town.

“I don’t have any plans to visit this summer, but I’ll definitely watch a game this fall,” he said.

Guthrie commented on what an offer from Clemson would mean for him and his recruitment should the Tigers ultimately accept the offer.

“An offer from Clemson would definitely be an option for me,” he said.

In addition to Clemson, Guthrie named Louisville, Penn State, NC State, West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama and Southern Cal as schools that have shown him “a lot of love.”

Guthrie is ranked by ESPN as the No. 131 prospect in the nation for the class of 2026, which ranks him as the No. 19 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 5 prospect in his class in the state of Ohio.
