VERNON — You can’t take advantage of this offer if you’re not ready to have a little fun.
In honor of America’s 248th birthday, Great Gorge Golf Club is reducing its Fourth of July green fees to a very specific price: $17.76.
“Many people have the day off, but as the holiday falls on a Thursday, most backyard barbecues will be fired up over the weekend,” said David Killin, general manager. “To make the day special, we are offering patriotic green fees to encourage golfers to spend an afternoon with us here at The Great Gorge in Vernon.”

To receive the heavily discounted holiday rate, golfers must call the pro shop in advance. The rate is valid for tee times on Thursday between 2 and 6 p.m.
The biggest catch: To close the deal, you have to show up dressed in patriotic colors.
The Great Gorge offers three courses to choose from.
